Elin Videvall received her Ph.D. from the Department of Biology, Lund University, Sweden, where she studied host microbiomes and genomics of avian malaria parasites. Afterwards, she did a postdoc at the Center for Conservation Genomics at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC, focusing on the invasive malaria parasite in the Hawaiian islands, Plasmodium relictum.
